Empowering Trinidadian Workers
Economic justice, fair wages, and collective power for the 868.
Who We Are
Standing Up for Trinidadian Labor
Workers Rights 868 is a grassroots advocacy platform and community-driven movement dedicated to protecting the rights, safety, and economic security of all workers across Trinidad and Tobago. We believe that the wealth of our nation is built by the hands of its working class—not by corporate exploiters or corrupt gatekeepers.
Our mission is to empower workers with the tools, knowledge, and solidarity needed to fight wage theft, unsafe working conditions, and unfair employment practices. From providing practical local resources like our doubles price map and jobs database to organizing mutual aid networks, we are building a safety net for workers, by workers.
Through community organizing, public awareness campaigns, and collective action, we aim to reshape Trinidad & Tobago into a place where every employee works with dignity, receives a fair living wage, and has a voice that cannot be silenced.
What We Stand For
Our Mission & Pillars
Economic Justice
Fighting wage theft and ensuring fair compensation, livable wages, and equal opportunities for all Trinidad & Tobago workers.
Labor Protections
Advocating for safe working environments, robust benefits, and fair hours. Every employee deserves to be safe and respected on the job.
Worker Empowerment
Supporting the right to organize, form unions, and establish worker cooperatives. Alone we are workers; together we are a movement.
Mutual Aid Networks
Building grassroots support structures, community barter systems, and mutual-aid platforms to support each other in times of need.
Freedom & Transparency
Exposing corruption, whistleblowing on corporate malpractice, and defending open communication for all citizens.
Tech in Service of Labor
Ensuring AI and technological advancements serve human workers and the public good, rather than displacing our local workforce.
What Guides Us
Core Values
“An injury to one is an injury to all. We stand united as one workforce.”
“Demanding absolute transparency, honesty, and accountability from employers.”
“Equipping workers with the knowledge, legal literacy, and agency to fight back.”
“Alone we are isolated workers. Together we are an unstoppable movement.”
